BESPOKE PROGRAMMING
Small World Cinema collaborates with cinemas, libraries, museums, schools and cultural organisations to create engaging film experiences for children and families.
Every venue and audience is different, so we offer flexible ways to work together: from fully delivered events to curatorial support and ready-to-run programmes. Our bespoke projects combine carefully selected films with creative, hands-on activities that help children discover cinema in playful and memorable ways.
Whether you are planning a family festival, developing a new audience programme, or looking for a unique event for young visitors, we can design something that fits your space, audience and ambitions.
CREATIVE EVENTS AT YOUR VENUE
We design and deliver fully hosted film events tailored to your venue. These can include screenings paired with imaginative workshops, interactive film play spaces, or festival-style family days.
Our team takes care of the creative concept, film programming and activities, and provides all materials and resources needed for the event. Each project is designed to suit your venue’s capacity, technical set-up and the age range of your audience.
PROGRAMMING & CURATORIAL ADVICE
We also support organisations looking to develop or expand their family film offer.
Drawing on our experience working with cinemas, festivals and cultural venues across the UK and Europe, we provide guidance on film selection, programme design and audience engagement. We can also suggest creative activities and formats that help make screenings more accessible and engaging for younger audiences.
EVENT-IN-A-BOX
Our ‘Event-in-a-Box’ packages provide everything you need to run a creative family film event at your venue.
Each package includes a curated film programme, a bespoke activity designed to connect with the films, and all the materials and guidance needed for your team to deliver the event. From simple hands-on workshops to immersive creative play environments inspired by the films, each event is designed to be flexible and adaptable to different spaces and audience sizes.
WHAT OUR PARTNERS SAY
Small World Cinema has worked with cinemas, schools and cultural venues to create memorable film experiences for young audiences.
“Small World Cinema has been pivotal in shaping Depot cinema's first family film weekend (Rascals) into a proper festival event. Our youngest customers and their parents loved partaking in the interactive workshop making animals out of recycled materials and then adding them to a farm where they were incorporated into a short stop-motion animation that parents could download as a keepsake. The workshop was designed to run alongside the Dutch film ‘Oink’ and together they were the highlight of the festival. Small World delivered all the materials and ideas. Small World's ethos of introducing children to films and stories from around the world aligns perfectly with the purpose of the Rascals Festival.”

“Small World Cinema understands how young children learn best: through exploration, creativity and hands-on play. The children were fascinated by the short films and the session sparked their imaginations and encouraged conversation and interaction. They loved engaging with the wide variety of resources, from light-up domes and light boxes to moving picture books and puppets.”
